The Mallorytown Pitcher

Royal Ontario Museum Reproduction of Canada's Oldest Blown Glass Artifact

Only a very few glass examples attributed to the 1839 Mallorytown Glassworks still exist because
the company had ceased production by 1840. Hidden by a farmers field for nearly a century, this historic
site near Brockville,Ontario was rediscovered in 1953 and its excavation marked the beginning of a new
widespread interest in Canadian glass history.

Commissioned and authenticated by the Royal Ontario Museum, this reproduction is blown without
molds in as historically authentic process. Examples of the reproduction are in the collections of the
former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and Governor General of Canada. Each example has an
engraved signature in diamond point.
